Performing Arts encourages students to explore their emotions, expand their imagination and develop their unique voices. Participating in music, dance and drama help to engage the brain, body and emotions in different ways. It encourages confidence and joy in self-expression.
In SISHK, the promotion of Performing Arts events is helmed by the student leadership group, Muzé Committee. With a vision of ‘fostering a deeper understanding of Performing Arts and developing a vibrant arts culture in SISHK’, it sets out to produce yearly musicals and termly Mutalks, which are educational videos on different genres of music and different types of art forms. A yearly Performance Arts Week is also organised to let the whole school participate in arts-related activities.
Students across cohorts are invited to audition for different roles in the yearly musical. This creates opportunities for interested students to develop their skills to think creatively and builds confidence in performing.
The musicals are planned and directed by the Muzé members. They provide the chance for Muzé members to develop a creative mind and enhance communication skills, leadership skills and imagination.
